Residential
This penthouse, located in the historic city centre of Moscow near the iconic Red Square, crowns a neo-classical Paris-inspired building with contemporary refinement. Constructed atop the historic structure, the rooftop residence spans the length of a 60-metre façade, embracing an open layout bathed in natural light. The design masterfully intertwines historical reverence with a bold contemporary vision, creating a space that is both timeless and sophisticated.
The layout strikes a delicate balance between openness and intimacy. Voluminous architectural partitions are thoughtfully positioned, maintaining panoramic views and unbroken sightlines through the interior, while subtly delineating distinct zones. This approach fosters a seamless flow between areas, offering a harmonious connection while preserving the impression of individual spaces. The result is a living environment that feels both expansive and personal, grand yet inviting.
The interior embodies a rich and layered design philosophy, reinterpreting classical elements with a contemporary sensibility. Intricate patterns in the flooring, seamless marble transitions, and purified ceiling mouldings are carefully abstracted to achieve a modern yet timeless aesthetic. The wall skirting serves as an additional architectural layer, standing prominently as a distinct feature that enhances the overall sense of space, precision and craftsmanship.
The material palette creates a unified and luxurious atmosphere. Brushed cedar wood, travertine, Calacatta Vagli marble, and bronze accents form the foundation of the design, exuding warmth and understated elegance. These materials are elevated through meticulous detailing, such as soft, rounded accents that recur throughout the space, from refined mouldings to bespoke handles and shelf supports. A recurring motif, inspired by the abstracted form of a pill, is artfully integrated into marble, fluted and bronze details, and architectural elements, weaving a sense of continuity and cohesion.
This penthouse stands as a testament to the seamless integration of historical architecture with contemporary interior design, offering a refined and harmonious retreat in the heart of Moscow.
