Office
This two story office, located near the water on 'The Little Island' in the heart of Antwerp, is designed as a contemporary workspace that balances functionality with a sense of comfort and informality. Featuring an informal bar and a meeting area in the lower level, the space encourages collaboration and social interaction within a refined and thoughtfully crafted setting.
The project transforms an initially raw concrete shell into a warm and sophisticated environment. The open-plan layout is subtly divided into distinct zones through material transitions and translucent fabric installations, introducing layers of privacy and spatial definition. Authentic features, including structural wooden beam ceilings, are thoughtfully incorporated to enrich the sensory experience and create a harmonious balance within the space.
The material palette embraces darker tones, with rich walnut wood paired with blackened steel details. Travertine stone and refined black interior accents contribute to a moody and atmospheric ambiance. Custom-designed light fixtures were developed specifically for the project, tailored to suit the diverse functions of the space.
This cohesive design approach results in a workspace that is both practical and inspiring, offering a refined setting for work and interaction in a location that blends urban energy with waterfront tranquillity.
